Course: Beginning Painting
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Combining a master copy with self portrait, this assignment encourages students to look at and mimic an artist’s stroke, composition and colors. Students are instructed to pick an artist from a supplied list or propose an artist to take inspiration from. Working from a mirror, or reference photos, students then create a painting of themselves using the style of their chosen artist.
